    Does your statement imply that foreigners (Indians & Pakistanis) don't get displaced to Sunderbans?

    One factor could be, that there is vast unclaimed land in Sunderbans (that is said to be stretching seawards with time) for them to claim & cultivate, in land-hungry Bangladesh. Bangladesh has a density (of population) of 1059 persons/km squared which is the biggest among big & mid-sized countries. Contrast that with India's 368, itself very big if you consider the first 10 biggest countries (or 142 for China).
