Because the WORLD decided that there are too many nuclear states this is why the UN came up with the NPT. A total of 191 States have joined the Treaty, including the five nuclear-weapon States. More countries have ratified the NPT than any other arms limitation and disarmament agreement, a testament to the Treaty’s significance.

We don't go around threating to destroy our neighbors because they looked at us cross eyed

2. Keep down your competition.

Its because the rest of the world doesn't trust them.

The instability of the current makers of new bombs. If you cannot recognize "threat", you live a very sheltered life. You might consider that one of the things that shelters you is the power of your nuclear bomb. You seem to lack a knowledge of history which is an explanation in detail of how this current situation you live in came about. You should read and learn.

Bacause it was agreed that if too many countries hold nuclear power it increased the threat of the World being destroyed. Especially if irresponsible despots are allowed to have them.

The United Nations was created in part to control nuclear weapons and keep them as far as

possible in the hands of those who had agreed a pact after the millions slaughtered in two

World wars. you cannot give nuclear power to dictators who want World domination.
