Desktop buying guide: Need Expert's Opinion?

I'm all set to assemble a new desktop. I am not an avid gamer, but would like to play it sometimes (Fifa/PES 2017).

After my primary research (as per my rough budget) I've planned to assemble my PC with the following:

1. Intel core i5 6th Generation Processor

2. Gigabyte Z170-HD3 Motherboard

3. Corsair Venegeance 8GB DDR4 Lpx2400 MHz RAM

4. Seagate (or WD) 1TB Hard Disk

5. Nvidia GT730 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card

Suggest me:

1. Required wattage of SMPS

2. If my prospective components as I stated are compatible and okay

There are a lot of questions on here today about the GT 730. It's not meant for gaming and it's simply created for someone to use more than 2 monitors, or for someone who needs the dedicated graphics memory. It's not meant or made for gaming. The GT 1030 can play every game at lower resolutions and some at 1080p, and the GT 1030 meets the minimum requirements for FIFA 18, just barely. I would recommend a GTX 1050 instead.

The integrated graphics in the 7th Generation processors are slightly more powerful than what the GT 730 has to offer. So it would make sense to buy a 7th Generation processor and a 200 series motherboard.

Intel plans to release their 8th Generation processors in about a month. Otherwise the AMD Ryzen 5 processors are a better choice. The Core i5 processors get beaten by the Ryzen 5 1600 in everything except for single threaded performance.

If you did buy a Ryzen system then you would certainly need a dedicated card, unless you waited for AMD to release their Raven Ridge APU.

The Seasonic 520w S12II would be a good and versatile pick because you would be able to use this with most graphics cards on the market. Power supplies that are in the 460w range or lower are limited to some mid range to lower end cards.

Unless that's an i5-6600K, it's a waste to go with a Z-series board. And the GT 730 is a terrible graphics card. Here it is compared to the minimum required to run FIFA 2017: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-46...

Here is a link to pcpartpicker for your proposed list. It is all compatible if a little underwhelming. A good quality power supply of 450W or greater will easily power this system

I am curious why you are choosing a 6th generation system rather than the latest 7th generation as you are naturally limiting future proofing, the price difference is only about $25
