Girls, if your boyfriend's employer's benefits weren't as good as yours, would you still want him to put you under his insurance?

Because you know, the guy is supposed to provide for the girl after all?

Of course not. We even kept our separate insurances when we got married. Only when it became a truly rational option did we decide to use one shared family insurance plan.

No, that's stupid. We're not in the 18th century anymore; men do not need to provide for women. I'm perfectly capable of having my own insurance plan apart from my boyfriend. Now if you're married to someone, then yes one spouse should go onto the other's plan. However, it does not have to be the woman moving if she has better benefits, and it would be purely a financial decision.
