Slow seep from the oil pan gasket on 2013 Cruze, should I be concerned?

I have a 2013 Cruze LTZ. I have noticed for the past few months every so often there is a drip of oil on the driveway about 2 inches in diameter. Anyways I looked under it with a flash light and I can see some oil has spread. I took it in to get looked at and they said that it was a ‘slow seep from the oil pan gasket’. However, they did not advise getting it repaired, just keep an eye on the oil level.

Is this something that I should be worried about, is this something that could turn bad really fast? Or is this the type of thing that will take years before it is an issue? Also anyone know approximately how much it would cost to get this fixed (they charge $100 per hour)?

Thanks for your time and advice it is greatly appreciated!

Update:

After looking further into this matter, it turns out that the oil pan gasket is covered by the 5 year 100,000 miles. However, it might actually have something to to with the PCV system, causing high oil pressure (Hopefullly this is not the case).

As of writing this the dealer cleaned up the oil reside on the underside and put dye into the oil to see where it could be coming from. They told me to drive about 150 miles and bring it back home in.

Just where did you "take it in"? People tend to mistake lube boys for mechanics. Unless you went to a qualified mechanic who knew enough to look higher up on the motor to see if the valve cover gaskets or the oil pressure warning light sending unit was leaking you likely don't need an oil pan gasket. the oil leaks which are higher up run down the motor and drip off of the oil pan.

next time you get a transmission service they'll replace the gasket if you have had a service recently go and complain about the leak my pet hate is cars dropping oil on the road.

Unless you want to be a careless jack a ss, yeah you should be concerned.

Try tightening the oil pan bolts slightly. Do not over tighten.
