Unfreezing Credit Report?

As a senior citizen in Illiniois I can freeze/unfreeze my credit reports free. Is there any reason to ever unfreeze temporarily, which would cost me $10? I/m thinking to just do a complete unfreeze and then do a freeze again in a week or so.

Thanks

Update:

Here are my credit freeze/unfreeze options in Illinois (as a senior citizen) for Experian, Equifax, TransUnion

1) Freeze (free)

2) Temporary unfreeze ($10)

3) Total unfreeze (free)

Why would I ever use option 2 when I can unfreeze for free (option 3) and then freeze again later (option 1).

With all the problems with the credit bureaus, why would you want to unfreeze it?

Why would you have to pay to unfreeze ?

    Sheesh.

You should only unfreeze the account if you are getting ready to apply for a new line of credit. If you are not applying for a new line of credit, there's no reason to unfreeze your record.
