I was bitten by a spider what can I expect?
The spider in particular was a Woodlouse Spider, I couldn't find much information regarding their bites. Which is why I am asking this question.
The area it bit me on (The fatty area below my thumb) is itchy and red resembling a mosquito bite, (the redness is more pronounced though) I ran scalding hot water on it for as long as I could stand so about 15 seconds it has since just been red.
I know this is the spider that bit me because I saw it in the floor running away and I promptly killed it after the fact. I assume it hitched a ride on my clothes when I went outside.
What are the effects I can expect from this spider bite? And what can I do to reduce the itchiness?
Thank you in advance.
I used hot water since I heard it can break down the proteins in the venom, at first I thought it was a brown recluse which scared me nearly to death, but after research seeing that it was anything but a brown recluse was a relief since as you know the only spiders to be fearful in North America is the Black Windows and the Brown Recluse.
One has deadly neurotoxic venom that can make you deathly ill and even kill you, and the other causes necrosis of the skin and can also kill if left untreated
I'm usually better at handling situations with spiders than this, if a spider makes its way into my house I will capture it and toss it out never killing them I do this mainly with the large wolf spiders sine they like to wander, but for this spider it unfortunately found it's way onto my shirt and when I took my clothes off to get into the shower the little guy was probably startled and bit me, unfortunately I mistook it for a Brown Recuse and it met it's end.

After that initial sting, there may be a lingering itch, that will slowly fade away.Might take as long as a day for any signs of the bite to vanish but certainly the worst is over by now.
These spiders are venomous but not a threat to humans.(compare to ants or bees)
I have actually handled a few of these, just never bitten, Heard people compare them to a mild bee sting.
Actually, Ice is better for these sort of bites. If the itch is bad, try bug bite cream.

As you can see it does take some doing to make spiders bite you, generally trapping them against the skin.
Only spiders I have gotten to bite were a jumping spider, a ground spider and a fair size wolf spider.
Been bitten by a couple grass spiders doing yard work, trapping them under shirts, just nuisance bites.
Nothing significant. (no, I didn't harm or kill the spiders) With these, the bites were just gone in a few hours.
