Why do people watch the royals? And what do they do, anyhow, other than charity work, etc.?

It's perfectly OBVIOUS what they do and if you had ANY intelligence, you would know too! They...hm...erm...they...hey, don't rush me! They go to the...hm but, everyone has to...they...erm...they, Oh, is that the phone I hear ringing? I must go and answer it with all speed!

Some watch female royals for their style.

Royals are ambassadors and diplomats. Their charitable and foundation works are important for those who benefit from it.

They used to open supermarkets, but no more, security risk apparently, Prince Andrew is a very famous arms dealer ( with links to the Saudis) and the rest of them just live on the taxpayers money, which is a great shame, as they are all filthy rich anyway. Charities would exist and flourish without the royals help.

Why do people watch the royals?? vicarious excitement (?) Boredom, most likely their parents unwittingly brainwashed them from an early age. And there's definitely some sad blokes who think certain royal women are well fit. ( there's no accounting for taste)

Media organisations have given the British royals minor celebrity status as a way to sell magazines and newspapers. So if Prince George wears a new pair of shoes immediately it is front page news and the stores sell out their entire stock of that shoe.

As for what do they do well they launch boats or open kindergartens or they just wave to the plebeians as they drive past them on their way to Buckingham Palace.
