Drinking and driving?

I'm not a lawyer but shouldn't you go to jail for this? Or will he eventually? I'm not sure how the system works. But anyway, literally a day ago, this 20 yr old guy that I know was driving uti without a licence. The twist is, he killed a woman. He was speeding do fast that she split in half.

He continued driving but later crashed into a pole and flew through his windshield.

The day after he was in the hospital and later went to jail, but the judge let him out with a manslaughter ticket and a few court dates?

I'm hella pissed. Others go to prison for the same thing and hes free? Will he do time??

Sad thing is, hes showing no remorse.

The Judge knew that after killing someone and flying through the windshield that guy needed to get drunk, so he let hm out. Smart decision.
