They think by telling black people they understand their "white privilege" and protest with them that they will be safe working and living with black people. If you are wealthy and have security systems, armed guards, gated communities and attack dogs you may be safe in the cities. But if you are of modest means and you get caught in a minority sponsored "protest" it wont help you to tell the person pulling you out of your car and beating you lifeless that you are a card carrying ACLU member.
