Computers: Odd beeping?

My laptop keeps beeping after power on self test. When I disable the keyboard, it will stop and proceed to windows. Keyboard works fine and no keys being pressed. Why is this?

Update:

Oh and after getting into windows I enabled the keyboard again and no keys are being pressed

    Keyboard is not fine. Have it replaced.

    Count the beeps then check the bios manual for the meaning of the error

    the keyboard may not be recognised by the bios. or the keyboard may be drawing too much power from that particular socket.
