Give the slope of any line that is perpendicular to the graph of y = 1/3x+2 I keep getting 3/1?

    You forgot to take the negative.

    The negative reciprocal of 1/3 is -3.

    Should , I assume, be shown as :-

    y = (1/3) x + 2

    m1 = 1/3

    m2 = - 3

    The slope of perpendicular lines are the negative reciprocals of each other. The slope you want is

    .. -1/(1/3) = -3/1 = -3
