    slope = (4-1)/(4-(-1)) = 3/5

    y - 1 = ⅗(x+1)

    y = ⅗x+8/5

    m = 3 / 5

    y - 4 = (3/5) ( x - 4 )

    y = (3/5) x - 12/5 + 20/5

    y = (3/5) x + 8/5

    (y - 1)/(4 - 1) = [x - (-1)]/[4 - (-1)].

    (y - 1)/3 = (x + 1)/(4 + 1).

    (y - 1)/3 = (x + 1)/5.

    5(y - 1) = 3(x + 1).

    5y - 5 = 3x + 3.

    5y = 3x + 3 + 5.

    5y = 3x + 8.

    y = (3/5)x + 8/5 (Answer).

    First, slope is rise/run . where rise is the change in the y coordinate and run is the change in the x coordinate

    So the slope is (4 - 1)/(4 + 1) = 3/5

    For any point (x,y) on the line

    (y -1)/(x+1) = 3/5

    use this to get the line equation

    ==> 5(y-1) = 3(x+1)

    ==> 5y - 5 = 3x + 3

    ==> 3x -5y = -8 (or 5y -3x = 8 or y = 3x/5 + 8/5)
