raising a teenager?

how do i advice my 17 year old on matters of life. I gave birth to her out of wedlock at 20 years of age and now when I advice her to take care of herself she tells me "you had me young" and life still worked out for you. yes it did work out, but I missed out on some opportunities like travelling and career growth because I had to take care of her.

You did your part, she will need to have some failings of her own to learn the hard way...just like you didn't listen to your parents either... That isn't any judgment at all, just saying that nobody listens to their parents at that age.

You already advised her, you did your part. Let her learn by herself. Life is hard and you won't be there protecting her forever. Let her start making her own choices.

Go to the site FHU.com, which provides a great amount of understanding.
