It is called selling up, he question should be something new, something you didn't include in your order, or an increase in size of an item(s) in your order. It s part of their required spiel. To answer your question, many do go with an add on item, which is why they still have to ask.

It's been proven to sell more food. That's why they do it. If it didn't work, they would stop.
