CR1 spousal visa do it some or with an attorney?
Hi Guys, I would like some serious genius help. I’m from the UK and my husband is American, we are in the middle of filing for the CR1 visa and thought we were all set up ready to go with our lawyer and she has informed us she is leaving the firm. And now we have been set back. The question is I am getting g many mixed messages to actually file this our selves as it’s quicker and easier to just go into USCIS website and submit the forms. Pls let me know know anyone has done this alone without a lawyer? We are not sure if to do this or find another attorney?
please serious and genuine answers
Thanks

If you spend $2,500 on an attorney, her overworked and underpaid assistant will make copies of documents YOU have to provide, put them in an envelope, and mail them to the USCIS, and, later, NVC. And since that assistant has to do that non-stop, it takes longer and mistakes happen.
Unless you have "issues," you can do that yourself. I suggest you become a member of www.visajourney.com (it's free) and read the CR-1/IR-1 guides.

The vast majority of those filing for K1 fiancé visa or CR1 spouse visa do it on their own. No attorney is needed. You DO need to read & follow instructions exactly & file application forms accurately!

Are you illiterate? A criminal? If not, then do it yourself. A lawyer can't do anything more than you can do yourself.

Thank you, I am the UK citizen and I am following everything by the book! I will be staying in the UK until my cr1 form has been completed. We have been married for 1 month. We are just not sure if to file it ourselves or use a lawyer?

To apply for a CR1 visa means you have been married for less than two years when your UK citizen spouse enters the United States on an immigrant visa, his or her permanent resident status is considered “conditional.” If you have not followed the immigration system correctly and your UK spouse is in the USA then you will need legal help, however if you are a good/honest citizen who is not trying to pull a 'fast one' and your UK spouse in waiting on the UK to get the visa then it is a case of ease in following the application form, providing the details/documents asked for and fitting the criteria, and will also mean less cost and time
