What shoes should I wear with this dress?

Going to a gala a week from Saturday and finally decided on my dress (thanks for your help!). Now I need to decide on the shoes. I will be wearing gold earrings, nude/tan pantyhose and either a black or gold purse.

Update:

Shoe #2 would be in black satin.

Update 2:

Not sure what is going on with the 3rd link, but the shoes is a simple/elegant t-strap. It is Nine West "sweet as pie" in black patent.

Update 3:

I can go gold shoes and match it to the shoulder studs on the dress or go with a black satin sandal (shoe #2) or black patent t-strap (shoe #3). Decisions, decisions....

Wear the gold Nine West. That in my opinion would go great with the gold spots on the shoulders of the dress and with the nude/tan pantyhose. For the color purse, choose gold because it will go good with the spots on the dress, the pantyhose, and the shoes.

Always remember no matter what type of dress you'd wear always wear pantyhose with it. Never go bare legged (it's like a man not wearing socks with a suit). Glad there are women like you Nicole that choose to wear pantyhose when wearing a dress/skirt. I love women in pantyhose! Pantyhose completes the woman's look and gives her a polished, elegant, and smoother look.

You ought to post a picture of yourself wearing the dress, the pantyhose, and the shoes.

Nine West Galavan Heels Gold Metallic. First top link, with the gold purse and gold earrings. Most classy and stylish. Will match the buttons on the shoulders, too. Not black or anything on the 2nd or, God forbid, the 3rd link. Listen to me, I'm President.

O.K., first things first. Shoe #2 and shoe #3 are out of the race. If it wasn't for the crossing straps, shoe #2 would be perfect and sexy as hell, but something about the crossing pattern just sucks the sex appeal out of them and makes them appear clunky. Shoe #3 has a similar problem going on. T-straps, too, suck the sexiness out of the shoe (or any shoe, for that matter). Plus they give what should be elegant heels the gladiator sandal look. Not a sexy or a particularly flattering, feminine look. So, that leaves us with #1, not a perfect shoe, but the least of all evils. I've never been a fan of the open-sides design, but it's not the worst thing in the world. Also, to nitpick, the toe opening is a bit on the big side. Since you always wear pantyhose, I pretty much absolve you of all sins of imperfection when it comes to shoes, dresses, etc. However, if you want to look 100% well put together, I'd go with a smaller toe opening in the future. The best example I could provide is this: https://poshmark.com/listing/Cole-Haan-Nike-Air-Ca... My ex had these heels and she loved them. They're just heavenly. Classy, feminine, sexy, but in a classy way, and they are appropriate for almost any occasion. If you want to raise the sexiness factor and improve on this design, try and find the same style, but with a 4 inch heel, instead of the ca. 3.25" heel that these have. As a general rule, always go for heels that are somewhere between 3.5-4". Anything less than that looks stunted if you don't know what to look for (most women don't; it's a thing that only men have an eye for), and anything more than that is too much and too sexy. Also, if possible, avoid platform heels. Women like them, for obvious reasons, such as comfort and being able to go with a higher heel, but they are a fad, and your pictures today will look laughable in a few years. The Cole Haan shoe I suggested does have a small platform, but it's forgivable, as it is a very nicely designed shoe otherwise and the platform looks good on it.

Although the gold color on shoe #1 wouldn't be my #1 choice at any other time, I admit that there is a time and place when that color is very nice and fitting for the occasion, so that's a plus point for the shoe, which I do like.

Lastly, let me give you some constructive criticism on the dress. If I was buying this for my girlfriend, it's not something I would intuitively reach for. It's a bit hard to put in words why, but here are a few objective reasons that may make sense to you. First, the color reminds me of Robin Hood. If you pair this with black pantyhose, it will scream Sherwood Forest, at least to me, in my head. So, it's not just that the color isn't that great to begin with, but also that it's hard to pair up with the standard colors, especially black pantyhose, and if you try tan pantyhose, it might look a sickly yellow next to the green. Second, while I like the long sleeves, the dress looks very loose fitting and will probably lack shape. To put it bluntly, it looks like you took your drapes and cut the dress from them. This impression of looseness and shapelessness is reinforced with the scowl neck that just bunches and hangs, giving off the impression of wrinkles, lack of clear lines, and lack of a distinctive shape (is it a v-neck, round neck, what the heck is it?). Third, the studs on the shoulders are totally out of place on an elegant dress. I get that they're supposed to give the appearance of bling, but it's still an epic fail, from the location of the studs, if there is such a thing as a good location, to the material and the color itself. Are you trying out for a rock band, or a biker gang? See what I mean? Now, with all the harsh criticism, I will admit that I do find the dress decent, as in, it's O.K., I can get myself to actually like it, and I see why you like it. Still, there are a ton of things to bemoan on this dress. In general, I don't like anything that looks like drapes and bunches everywhere. If I could impart one piece of advice, then that would be it, to avoid loose, bunched up dresses. Instead, go for classic colors, dresses that hug your body and natural curves, dresses without weird slanted slits or slanted hems and hems that aren't straight, and dresses that cover your arms, at least with cap sleeves on the shoulders, but those with longer sleeves, either around elbow length or full length, are always nicer. Think of them as leggings for your arms. They wrap your arms with nice, soft-to-the touch materials, and they accentuate the frailness and femininity of your arms. Classy and sensual.

I hope this helps. I know I picked your clothing ideas apart, but when all is said and done, the green dress and gold shoes are actually very nice and, as critical as I can be, they're not as bad of a choice as they might sound. I'm sure you'd look great in them.

Hi Nicole!! I think the gold Nine West shoes with nude/tan pantyhose will look wonderful with that dress! The gold will match the gold on the shoulders. And let’s face it, the gold will really pop! Would love to see a picture of the final product next Saturday!

First link shoe is great pairing. Good taste. Second is a great shoe as well and I'd love to see your feet in those wearing pantyhose but I still think it is second place. Enjoy your evening. You'll sure garner attention.
