I think that since Israel's initiation they started developing a thetoric of overstating and romanticising how bad Israel and Zionism is for the Arab world. They did this because many of them at the time were pan-arabists, and they wanted to create an anti-Israel ethos that'll be felt throughout the Arab world in the years to come, to really establish the conception that Israel is Islam's enemy. That's why many Arabs today will claim Israel is getting involved in Syria and providing aid to ISIL. To us it sounds like a conspiracy theory, to them it makes sense because they expect the worst from Israel. It's what they've been taught. Really, they have nothing to fear. Myths like Israeli expansionism and jewification or appropriation of Arab sites are just baseless. Israel is trying pretty hard to create peace. It's agreed to US brokership and enforced cpuntless settlement freezes.
