    No. If you want the big states (Texas, California, New York, Florida, etc). to override your state/voice...then yeah, abolish it.

    It will never happen. The smaller states would never agree to such a thing. Nor should they. At that point, NY and CA would effectively rule the country.

    This was established so that the smaller states wouldn't be dominated by the bigger states. It was valid then and is valid now.

    I think it should. Our founding fathers probably realized that the Electoral College could give us a president that most people voted against. But I don't think they anticipated that it would give us two out of three in a row. And two of the worst presidents in our history.

    The problem is that abolishing it would require a 2/3 majority of states, meaning some smaller states would be voting to give up some of their power. And that's not going to happen anytime soon.
