Peoria. It has the river. the locks on the river. cheap bars near the river, Gambling boat, rent a car & drive up the road along the river, close to henneypen canal, much safer there than L.A. cleaner air by far, much more.

Both are terrific locations. Although LA has far more significant sites to enjoy, traffic congestion easily qualifies one as a tour guide in Hades.
