I wan to scrap the damn things. What the hell are the chances I will need again?

62 and retired. For 40 yrs never had my original birth certificate or my SS CARD. Not on Medicare. Although I am set with health care. I don't want the damn things anymore. Needed a copy of coarse to apply for my RR benefits.

Why? It's not like these two things are somehow overwhelming your life with clutter. Just put them somewhere safe so you have them when needed. You need these things for government benefits, drivers licenses, passports, etc.

You may need an original copy and if you do not have it you would have to get a CERTIFIED copy of the record. Which could be expensive.
