Should I Tow Someone Out of My Reserved Parking Space?
I live in a complex where certain condos (not all) have reserved parking spaces attached to them. My place has one reserved space, and I love it because it's literally 20 feet from my front door. However, ever since I started looking at the place, my neighbors parked their vehicles in my spot.
I've started working nights. So now I go into work when everyone gets home, and lately I've come home at 1-4am to find my neighbors in my spot again, which is really frustrating.
In my complex, residents have complete discretion over their parking spaces, and we're even provided a 24-hour towing service free of charge.
But I dunno, I feel bad towing them, because one of them just totaled their car and is driving some beat up truck, and they have a kid. I know getting your car back from being towed is expensive. I could leave a note on their windshield, but I feel that's too passive-aggressive. But I'm afraid if I tow them, they'll mess with mine, my girlfriend's, and her sister's car, or they'll just continue to park in my space to spite me.
I guess I'm thinking too much into it. I see the tow truck here at least 10 times a week towing cars out of other people's spaces, so why do I feel so bad towing someone else's car. What do you think? Give or warning or get the message across and tow them until they stop?

Yes, you can have it towed, but do the right thing first, speak to your neighbor about it and be respectful, let them know that continued use can result in being towed, if it comes down to being towed, be sure you have all your facts in order, take pictures of the vehicle in your parking space and include the license plate in the photo, that way, there will be no questions.

I'm thinking that even though you have a reserved parking space, YOU don't have the authority to call the towing company on your own. YOU need to talk with the people in your condo/apartment management office and see what THEY can do to resolve your issues.

Speka to the car owner. If he does it again have it towed.

Contact that neighbor and talk to them before you tow them. This at least will attempt to be a good neighbor and keep things nicer for you living there( at least in theory).

There should be a large sign placed where no one can miss it first. Then, place a warning on the car. "Warning. You are parked in a reserved space, and future violations will result in your car being towed"
If the same car continues to use your space, call the tow truck.
This is what I do at my business, where there is an apt. complex across the street. It works quite well usually, but once in a while, I get stubborn jerks that refuse to pay any attention to signs or warnings, so they learn the hard way.
I also take pictures of the car, the warning note, and sign, so there are no valid arguments on the matter.

Talk to them.
Tell them it is your reserved space. If they persist you will have the vehicle towed.
Make sure the space is clearly marked as yours.
