How do you count the points on a buck deer in your region?
If you shot a buck with 3 points on one side and 4 on the other how would you describe the antlers? Please to state your locale. Thanks very much. My thought is that would be a 4 point!

In the western US you count the more points per side,so 4 point OR 3 by 4 is proper also; a 7 point buck or bull elk out here is pretty much max. For elk you can get "regal" or "imperial" for some folks but that`s BS on my thinking.
SO, no "30 Point Buck" like Da Yuppers sing about;though I WAS born a Yupper I grew up in North Idaho.

In Illinois it would be considered a 7 point buck, you count each point, as a point. If the Bucks have even horns on both sides if it is a typical Buck if they're uneven or one hanging down it is a non-typical.

In my state with would be considered a non-semetrical four point or a 3 by 4 point. Here we only count one side.
