People have different standards for their opponents than they do their allies. When an opponent is censored, like when Donald Trump removed silent protestors from his audience during his speech, censorship is praised and cheered. When an ally is censored, like when their where protestors were purposely loud in order to prevent Trump from speaking, well then it's an infringement of free speech and should be scorned. The same is true regardless of political party. When a democratic candidate is accused of molestation, it's a smear campaign. When a republican is accused, they should be locked up. (The same is true visaversa. Pizzagate anyone?)

"Liberal" is a political term virtually synonymous with a leftist because the political spectrum has shifted left. "Classical liberals" (the reasonable ones) just call themselves libertarians or conservatives. Classical conservatism could be coined by modern day political theory as literal fascism.

I personally think this is a nonsensical view on political theory, but the millennials changed it, so what can you expect?
