What are the benefits of a Cow-calf operation?

I need to know the benefits of a cow-calf operation. You know for the beef industry.

I just need benefits, anyone who answers and rants "there are no benefits, it's wrong to eat animals blah blah blah." I will give you a thumbs down and will report you for ranting and for not even answering the question.

    I suggest you start by looking at the alternatives to a cow-calf operation then comparing them.

    Such as, if you didn't have a cow-calf operation, where would you get your replacements?
