How do I cook on the campfire in 7 days to die?
I am playing the newest version (16.4) I think. I tried to cook a boiled egg. I had the campfire, cooking pot, wood for fuel, an egg , bottled water. I was able to move the wood to the selected area to light the fire. The cook selection is greyed out. What am I doing wrong. I cannot figure out the cooking in this game. There is not enough food and water in this game. I keep dying.

Did you put the Cooking pot into the Utensil slot in the fire ?
If you're having troubles with food. You could try making your starting base next to Diersville where there is a farm with hundreds of Corn. I used the shack with metal siding as my starting base.
Also, for water, just go to the Snow biome and dig some snow, then just cook it on fire with an empty bottle, you'll never run out this way.
