    HELL

Hell, as envisioned by the ones who believe in a God who is vindictive and vicious and does not show mercy, is a place or eternal punishment for sin.

Hell, as defined in the Bible is simply the grave. The grave to which all mankind is destined to go. Note this Bible verse in Ecclesiastes. “The living are conscious they will die; but the dead are conscious of nothing at all.” Ecc 9:5

How did the idea of eternal torment and punishment originate? Actually the idea originated inside a demented mind. And the idea is based on a lie. What was the lie? And when was it told?

Read for yourself the account in Genesis 3:1-5. Focus on verse 4. “You will not die”, the serpent claimed. Remember this. God told Adam not to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden. If Adam did he would die. Genesis 2:17.

Satan bluntly told Eve the exact opposite. (You will not die.) Ask yourself, are these two humans, Adam and his wife Eve alive somewhere here on earth? No. So who told the truth? God? Or Satan? The Bible record shows Adam dying. The brief record at Genesis 5:3-5 records a synopsis of Adams life becoming father to numerous children and then dying.

Bottom line; Satan was proved a liar. Then wishful thinking on the part of people along with Satanic propaganda became believed. When God formed the human family he put eternity into their hearts because they were created to live forever. See Ecclesiastes 3:11

So Satan appealed to man's heart in a way that is in accord with our basic nature. “Adam did not really die. God put am immortal something inside man that lives on after the body dies. This immortal soul actually goes to heaven to be with God for all eternity.” Man, not wanting to die, jumped on this idea and made it his own.

    Bottom Line

A burning place of eternal torment is the product of a demented mind. It has no place in any Bible teaching. It is based on a lie told as the first lie by Satan the devil.

That's what false religion teaches but it's not what the Bible teaches (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6) For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.

In fact the scriptures say both the just (righteous) and the unjust (unrighteous) will be brought back in the resurrection of the last days. Some Bibles say the good and the bad.(Acts 24:15) The resurrection of the last days was mentioned when Martha told Jesus she knew her brother would be part of that resurrection. (John 11:24) Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

So why is it that Christendom's clergy preach a burning hell fire? This was the belief of the early pagans that also believed in the 3 in 1 godhead! Anyone that studies history of religion knows this! Historian Will Durant observed: “Christianity did not destroy paganism; it adopted it! (2 Timothy 4:3, 4) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled. 4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.

No such thing as a (hell-fire.)

Hell in English is translated from the Hebrew language (Sheol) which means the grave.

Sheol is an unfamiliar term to many. It is a Hebrew word of uncertain derivation. Many religions teach that the dead are still alive, but as the inspired Word of God shows, those in Sheol are dead, without consciousness. Sheol is the common grave of mankind.

Collier’s Encyclopedia says concerning Hell: First it stands for the Hebrew Sheol of the Old Testament and the Greek Hades of the Septuagint and New Testament.

Since Sheol in Old Testament times referred simply to the abode of the dead and suggested no moral distinctions, the word hell, as understood today, is not a happy translation.

    Food for thought.

If the dead are in the heaven enjoying with the Lord, and the other in hellfire being burn alive.

Then, where are those to be resurrected?

    John 5:28,29

What these people say about hell defies Revelation 20:

"13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (KJV)

Are the dead in hell, when it's cast into the lake of fire? Are the dead judged before, or after, they are in hell?

Romans 6:7,23 tell us that by dying, sinners pay the wages of sin in this life, so once they die, there is no basis for judgment, until they have lived again.

Darling girl, don't worry. I thought the same thing, until Jehovah's witnesses came to my door. I asked them about hell fire and they told me I that it was just mankind's common grave & all who died were sleeping in death.

I didn't believe that was right, so after they left I went to the library and asked the librarian to help me, she took me to the religious section and there were many books and again she selected a few for me. I went to look and it surprised me and there it was--

it showed me that hell was "the grave"...

The next day they came back and I told them, "You were right!"

A few days passed and they came again and asked if I wanted to learn more about the Bible. I said if I can use my own Bible and they said, of course!

Quickly I began to learn that the JW's were right and after about a year, I became one!
