Atheist churches being established around the world?

From the ECONOMIST comes this report about Seattle, London, Dallas and more...

'….this “atheist church” aims to offer some features of a religious congregation (fellowship, collective enjoyment, a stimulus to moral behaviour) while eschewing any belief in a deity or the supernatural. Ruth Walther, the founder of the Seattle community, sums up its ethos by drawing a contrast with a Christian hymn, “God moves in a mysterious way”. At her church, she says, “We believe in good because good works in non-mysterious ways.”

It was easy whit the green format. Now voting seems to have become extinct. Is there a procedure I miss?

If I were the Devil,

Nations at war with themselves.

Until each in its turn was consumed.

And with promises of higher ratings, I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.

If I were the Devil I’d encourage schools to refine young intellects but neglect to discipline emotions—just let them run wild

Until before you knew it you would have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing

And judges promoting pornography.

Soon I could evict God from the Courthouse

And then from the Schoolhouse

And then from the houses of Congress.

And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science.

I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls and church money.

If I were the Devil I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg and of Christmas a bottle.

If I were the Devil, I would take form those who had and give to those who wanted, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.

And what would you bet I couldn’t get whole states to promate gambling as the way to get rich.

I would caution against extremes;

In hard work

In patriotism

In moral conduct

I would convince the young that marriage is old fashioned, that swinging is more fun and what you see on TV is the way to be.

And thus I could undress you in public, and lure into bed with diseases for which there is no cure.

In other words, if I were the Devil, I’d just keep right on doing what he is doing.

Was Mr Harvey correct? What do you think?

The U S is now systematically calling for Gay marriage to be legal. And laws by states, even with a vast majority of people want marriage to be only between a man and a woman are being called unconstitutional.

Here is a possible solution to make most people happy..

How about this. Outlaw all marriage. And make the state pay for all child upbringing. The only exception would be for a couple to raise children on their own if they desire.

This way everyone is happy.

Gays are happy. They can live with whoever or whatever they want.

Atheists are happy as God is the originator of marriage and they don't want anything to do with God.

Christians are happy. They can have their own ceremony if they desire and bring up their own children if they want to pay for them (no tax breaks)

The only unhappy ones would be the ACLU and Muslims. No need to say why and give them ammunition.

Will we be able to recognize loved ones? Where will we be resurrected to? Heaven? Earth? Or some other place? What does it mean to be resurrected?
