How did the DNA code originate?
The code is a sophisticated language system with letters and words where the meaning of the words is unrelated to the chemical properties of the letters—just as the information on this page is not a product of the chemical properties of the ink (or pixels on a screen). What other coding system has existed without intelligent design? How did the DNA coding system arise without it being created?

When Ted K says, "There's no evidence that a creator exists," he means there's no evidence that he would accept. 85-90% of the population are theists (of some kind) and think there is plenty of evidence. I would watch some of the debates with Dr. William Lane Craig, Dr. John Lennox, and Dr. Stephen Meyer.
Materialists have not been able to explain the origin of information in cells; this kind of information has not been shown to spontaneously arise from matter and energy, and no theory of undirected chemical evolution has come close. But, they have faith that "science" will eventually figure it out (without God of course).
The problem is, we know from experience: If you have a computer program, you need a computer programer. Any time we find specified information, whether it is in the form of a hieroglyphic inscription, a newspaper article, a computer program, or encoded in a radio signal, we know there was an intelligent agent behind that information. This is not an argument from ignorance or incredulity, but an argument from what we know.
Dr. Jonathan Sarfati made the comment: “Living organisms have encyclopedic quantities of complex, specific information coded in the DNA. Interestingly, this is precisely the criterion that would prove that a signal from outer space has an intelligent source [speaking of the SETI program]” (Refuting Evolution).
If you want to know more about this, I would get Dr. Stephen Meyer’s book: Signature In The Cell.

We don't know. But here's the thing--the insistence on it having had to have been intelligently created is backed by absolutely no evidence whatsoever, but is instead a baseless assertion arising from the a priori PRESUMPTION that an intelligent creator exists. Arguments for a deliberately designed "code" are nothing more than a bunch of hand waving stemming from that presumption, and engineered to arrive right back at that presumption as the conclusion--IOW a circular argument--the well-known logical fallacy of "begging the question."
There's no evidence that a creator exists. Until such evidence is presented, there is no rational reason to assume the genetic code was deliberately designed. Just because we do not know how the code arose naturally is no reason to invoke a supernatural, "intelligent designer" as a placeholder for our ignorance--precisely because there is no evidence that such an imaginary being even exists.
You CANNOT use any kind of human-designed code as an analogy for the genetic code, because unlike the presumed "intelligent designer" (God), we already KNOW that humans literally exist, and we already KNOW that humans often design things, including codes.
