He was good. Not on the level of Giggs and beckham but yeah he was good before he moved to Liverpool

He was a monster in his early years, absolute monster, way better than the likes of sh#t like Beckham and Giggs, but he declined in the second half of his career

Never quite reached the top level expected after leaving West Ham, but was still good enough for top teams, and England. Been slowly declining in recent seasons.

i would say yes he is a little bit, partly as he doesn't score as many goals as he should do, and for how much e's rated. He's an attacking midfielder/winger whose played for a couple of top premier league clubs. People talk about him a lot, but he's not brilliant. So, again, yes I think he is overrated.
