    Simon of Trent is a martyr and a patron of kidnap and torture victims. He was a toddler whose disappearance and murder was blamed on the leaders of the city's Jewish community, Pope Paul VI, removed Simon from the Roman Martyrology in 1965 for: "pastoral reasons". Reading between the lines of sources it's very possible the tiny child's murder was a manufactured crisis used by enemies of the Jews to get them expelled from the town of Trent.

    I've never heard of the CC decanonizing anyone. I don't think that has ever been done.

    first ive heard of it. honestly not all people were actually authorized teachers of the gospel.

    but if the catholic church changed their minds. it must mean something. hopefully it was a righteous judgment and not evil demonizing a righteous person
