How to stop my boyfriend buying me so many gifts? Im not materialistic n its making me feel really awkward...?

Me n my boyfriend have been dating only a few months, this might seem a weird issue but he keeps buying me gifts like every time. Im grateful but Ive told him he doesnt have to n id prefer to just have a nice time together. Im.not materialistic n I like everything to be 50/50 in a relationship. When we go for food or drink we pay half n take turns, same if we go cinema or somewhere. I dont have as much money as him although ive bought him.something when I went away one weekend and something for xmas I could never do it as much as he does for me and I think he would feel rralllyeally uncomfortable if I did.I dnt like being showered with material.objects, ive never been that type of person. It just makes me feel awkward n kinda bad. Ive asked him to stop but he keeps on. I dnt like that he seems to think being a boyfriend is about buying stuff, but whatever I say he keeps doing it.

Tell him if he buys you another gift you're going to break up with him, because apparently saying it nicely isn't getting thru his thick head

Tell him upfront. Unless he's a millionaire or billionaire, I doubt that he would hate having more money in his pocket. Just remember what you say to him when its Christmas or your birthday!

I can see how that would be annoying. I think its fine ok if he pays for drinks and dinner, but you need to have a chat with him about all the gifts. It makes him look shallow and like he's trying to buy your affection.
