Skoda John is correct. Subarus should be serviced only with genuine subaru coolant. These cars are susceptible to headgasket failure if improper coolant is used. It's an issue with electrolysis I believe,

As far as the transmission goes, total capacity of the system is 10 litres. Dropping or draining the pan will only drop 4 litres out. I suggest just doing the 4 litres every 20,000mi rather than doing a whole flush which can get expensive and need specialist machines. Every 20k miles will be fine for a long service life.

Subaru cooling systems need specialist care. Get it wrong they blow head gaskets.

Take it to a dealer or a specialist.
