In Baseball: With Stanton obviously going for the Dodgers first, couldn't he have offered a voluntary pay cut to help the Dodgers?

He could have tried, but the players' union would have come down hard on him and pressure him to reconsider, if that failed they could try to go to court and stop him, how that would have gone, I don't know.

He would have no incentive to do so. Why would he turn his back on millions of dollars?

Stanton can talk about wanting to win all that he wants but at the end of the day he's just a money-grubbing piece of sh!t like almost every other major league player. The Wankers can afford to pay him and history shows that they will. He can sit on his dumb azz and DH while the ugliest mofo in baseball plays right field.

The Wankers have cornered the market on butt-ugly right fielders.

I hope Stanton goes out and has a nice steak dinner while he's in NYC...and chokes to death on it.

    By rule that's not allowed.

He could have, but the players' union would have come down hard on him and pressure him to reconsider...failing that, they likely would have gone to court to block him...

...such was the case with A-Rod when the Rangers had a deal in place to dump his salary on Boston... renegotiating his salary was part of the deal (to which A-Rod agreed), but the union filed a grievance and the trade died... allowing A-Rod and his full salary to be traded to the Yankees a year later...

any sports player can. but, why would they? he wants the money, so he should keep it. maybe down the road with the yankees he'll restructure his contract, so who knows.
