Why do so many americans think that europeans are not allowed to own guns?

Ok i admit it´s not as easy like in the US. but in generall its not really a problem to legally own all kinds of firearms for citizens without a criminal record.

Ok the UK is the most extreme anti gun, and sweden, swiss... are the most liberal gun countries in europe. But anyway just like the US it differs from state to state. (or in the EU from country to country. BUT there exists not a single country in europe (not even the UK) where guns are banned for civillians.

Most Americans don't actually care. They are generally aware it is more difficult for a private citizen to legally possess firearms in Europe, but they are uninterested in the details.

Laziness on our part. I think when we say stuff like that, we are talking about guns like Americans can own, like semi-auto handguns and AR-15s.

I'm sure many Europeans are allowed to own things like single or double barrel shotguns, maybe some bolt action rifles and the like.

But I bet most Europeans couldn't buy and keep in their house something like a Glock 17. At least not without a great deal of difficulty.

Well, unless you've lived there, as I have, and read European newspapers and so forth, you're not really going to have much knowledge of the local gun laws. Why would you? Europeans know about our laws largely because of the frequent shootings that take place here -- they are publicized abroad -- but there's just very little reason that Americans would know much about European laws.

When a mass shooting took place in Norway, Americans learned about the laws there, but why would they know what the French or the Italians or the Austrians do?

Americans can't really think regards to outside of their Own country! It's like the rest of the World doesn't even exist! Thanks to the Mainstream Media.....They are literally clueless, to what other Nations are doing around the globe!

Since I know many business owners in the UK then I can tell you they all have "hunting guns" at home even though they do not hunt. They get the self protection while the government tells the poor people to be victims. Liberalism is lies told by elites to make sure that they get everything and everyone else is poor. That is why most of he wealthy in the US are liberals. Not because they believe it but the poorer the masses are then the richer they are.

This American thinks some Europeans are allowed to own guns, but many European countries make it so difficult and expensive to own a gun most citizens just do not.

Plus you can only own hunting rifles and no hand guns. Ammo is limited and very expensive and concealed carry permits are impossible to get for the average citizen.

Also with no 2nd Amendment constructional right,,, your European gun laws can be changed at any time.

The world would be a better place if every single person carried a gun.

Most Americans don't give a shiit about gun rights in European nations.
