Taskbar issue?
Hey all
For around the last week I have had an issue where I cannot use the taskbar - meaning I am unable to open the start menu or operate some of the icons (although strangely, I can open the internet and windows explorer icons, yet the sticky notes, notification icons/date and time, or the start menu won't work)
Also I notice that when adjusting the volume, although the volume does change it doesn't show a visual on the screen anymore
I did complete an upgrade around a week ago so believe that may have contributed to this
Any ideas of a quick-fix?
Cheers!
Hmm, still no luck :( Sticky notes is working now, but the start button is still not working, nor does it show the calender when I click on the time
Any other suggestions?

I'm going to assume that you have Windows 10 now before you do anything run Malwarebytes remove anything bad then run your antivirus after you have done this open up your control panel go to where it says power management find where it says choose what the power button does sent it to shut down then at the very top of the page find where it says show settings that are currently unavailable click on it now he will be able to uncheck the word fast start from the bottom of the page quick apply. Now try the emergency shutdown menu right click on the Windows icon which is on your taskbar see if the emergency menu works if it does not you'll have to shutdown your computer with the power down button however when your computer restarts you may notice that everything works now if it does and that cleared up your problem you can go back into control panel and re-enable fast start fast start commonly causes problems after a big update

Either press the Windows Key, or Press CTRL + ESC keys to activate the taskbar. Right click on the taskbar, then left click on properties. Be sure Lock the task bar is selected and Autihide is NOT selected.
Hope this helps,

Right click on the Taskbar and select Taskbar options. Look at the options that you have selected.
