Selling millions of albums and thousands of concert tickets is appreciation enough.

Not any more than it already is. He had some hits and sold a bunch of records, but the time has kind of passed and now he's more or less a dude who pops up on nostalgia radio from time to time. And don't sleep on how impressive that is. Tons and tons of bands have been great and come and gone and can't say that. That said, I think if you're looking for it to turn into something bigger I honestly don't see some crazy Billy Idol resurgence or anything. I think his level of appreciation kind of is what it is at this point.

At weddings yes and parties. Idols music was made for specific times and events. He may only be known for a handful of songs, but they are huge and are part of big events. So it has been appreciated, just not in the traditional sense. He probably wont enter the Hall, but everytime Rebel Yell or White Wedding is played. Its a nod to him. Hes happy where his music has gone.

I think he was pretty appreciated. He sold ALOT of albums. He had numerous hits. I mean, he's not Elvis or the Beatles, but he doesn't deserve to be thought of in that vein.
