Installing an Ooma Telo I received as a gift.?

Haven t opened the box yet, have been told that it will only work with one phone in the house. Is that true?

(If it matters, I have AT&T service for landline and WiFi.)

The answer is yes and no.

Out of the box, the Ooma Telo will connect to only 1 phone. But if you have a cordless phone with multiple handsets like in this picture, you can put a phone in every room of the house. You plug the cordless phone base station into the Ooma Telo and that pretty much takes care of it.

Also you can add Ooma Linx, which is a wireless extender to add more phones elsewhere in the home. I've linked to that add on accessory.

Lastly, I've seen Youtube videos where you can isolate the phone wiring in your home from the old telephone company and then plug the Ooma into your home's phone wall jack, and it uses the existing phone circuitry in your home to activate those other wall jacks in other rooms. But that requires doing some wiring on where the phone company's wiring meets your home's wiring.
