I'd keep it because its mine. Not theirs, its MINE! I'm not joking, you can't have it and don't ask me can you have it, it will only be awkward for the both of us - me for having to tell you to shove off and you because I embarrassed you. Well, I didn't embarrass you, you embarrassed the both of us with pushiness and greed.

Depends on what the gift is. If it's something I can use, and it's not against any kind of company policy (money limits), then yes I will keep it.
