When Rifleman with Chuck Conners was current back in '50s, did people thrn get it about Chuck's frenzied, below-waist....?

....jerking of his rifle's trigger, and his protection of the sheriff after losing his boy Mark's mother?

Update:

..and none of all those bullets penetrating a target except when his sheriff got in trouble with the guys come to town?

    Well, we didn't have the liberal gun control bigots back then, so people mostly just enjoyed the movie. Nothing you see in the movies about firearms is even close to real life.
