in the movie signs, was the alien trying to help the boy at the end of the movie or trying to hurt him?

    Hurt him. He also might have been taking him for cliche alien experimentation (poking, probing, etc.) As you should know, the alien got caught and poisoned the boy. That's when his uncle swings away at the cups of water. It's kinda a blessing that the boy had asthma. Because of that, the aliens poison didn't really effect him.
