Can/should you eat corn on the cob raw?
Everybody thinks that I am wierd for doing this... But, I will literally take corn on the cob, peel the hairs off, wash it and eat it in its raw state..... I have read that it retains more of its nutrients/enzymes in the raw form... And it tastes sweeter...
Why would commercial corn benefit from cooking it vs homegrown corn eaten raw?

Of course it is better to eat any fruit or veggie as close to the natural form as you can. The more processing you do to it, the less nutritional value it retains.

You can eat corn straight from the plant.

you sure can and just about every farm kid has at one point. You can eat all veggies raw. Its just that some taste better cooked.

You retain ZERO nutrition this way. It goes right through you.

Fresh (like picked out of your own garden) sweat corn is good raw. Usually commercial corn benefits from cooking.
