Is it that bad to drink alcohol the night before your tattoo appointment?

  • A beer or a glass of wine isn't a big deal. Think moderation.

Nah, I was trashed for this. Not to mask pain, just because a bar was on the way.

You bleed a little more (sometimes). So what people think the artist is too stupid to wipe excess blood off or work around it? That is too much rocket science for dumb tattoo artists. When the shop was down a few stores from the bar we did amazing. The biggest pain was handling the drunks. Meaning they fidget, are louder or generally more annoying. Of course they are they are stupid and drunk getting tattoos, it was an annoyance. But their money was good. I was not trashed when I got the sides of my neck, hands, stomach. None came out better or worse because of alcohol. None hurt more or less (all hurt).....

If the shop does not want you drinking it is mostly due to they do not need stupid people piggybacking around the store or talking about "I love you bro"..... It gets old.

Oh that is a bad photo shop. I wanted to cut out my face though. GL... Drink if you want dont act like a drunk. It is easy. Don't tell me or anyone endlessly how trashed you are too.....

    yes

  • It's not bad as long as you're not too hung over.

Alcohol does thin your blood out. If you're bleeding all over the stencil / drawing, that can make things difficult for the tattoo artists.

A couple 12+ hours ahead of it, or drinking all night and going in with a hangover?

The first is o.k., the second means you need an alternative approach to life.

Yes it is, which is why you are told not to do it

It thins your blood, and makes you bleed more, making it more difficult for your artist to work
