Do I have to pay a fine on my taxes, if I didn t have health insurance for 2017?
I thought they waved it, when Trump was elected. I only make about $8,000 a year.
I don't have health insurance couldn't afford it
I live in Florida , no medicaid.

If thats all you make you qualify for medicaid and owe nothing.

Trump's abolishment of this requirement will not help you. It was not in place for 2017.

The individual mandate penalty will end in 2018 so next year's tax return wont penalize you. If you earned $8,000 did your state expand Medicaid? If not, you would not have to pay the penalty because of your low income anyway. Look at the tax return for 2017 and the exemptions. The penalty did not end when Mr Trump was elected a year ago. It was part of the tax reform bill that was passed recently.
