No nation has ever been past the maximum point. That is why Professor Laffer has disavowed the theory, but Republicans like it so much they claim it is "science" instead of fairy dust. Even when we had a 96% income tax bracket, it still did not slope downward.

Simply stated, we know that zero tax produces zero tax revenues and we also know that 100% tax also produces zero tax revenues. So where is the spot where maximum revenues result? Lower taxes may actually generate higher revenues.
