Any food scientists/chemists out there with a good idea of the percentage of vinegar made from natural gas?

Heinz advertizes that corn is the main source of ethanol for its vinegar, but the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms states "It is our opinion that most of the distilled spirits used in the production of vinegar are derived from natural gas and petroleum."

    They are talking about the FUEL for the distillation process.

    Vinegar is ascetic acid, how is this have anything to do with Natural GAS!?!? Could you cite a source?
