Should I be a self-employed personal trainer??..?

I am thinking of leaving university as I'm not enjoying it at all. My passion is health and fitness, therefore I'd love to pursue that. Would being a self-employed PT be a good change?.. or..? Any other ideas would be appreciated!

thank you

What have you accomplished? Have you been a successful competitive bodybuilder, or powerlifter, or Olympic lifter? Have you participated in national level Crossfit?

Or, did you simply send off for an online course so that you are buying a certification with no real qualification?

Accomplish something first so that people can see that you know what you are talking about...

Stick it out and get your degree, then decide what you want to do. Or switch majors.

Well, how much do you know about becoming a personal trainer? Are you just fantasizing or have you looked into it and feel your able to? A personal trainer must be - educated, certified and insured just to start out. You'll also need to know how to run a small business and how to register for and do taxes for it. Or pay someone to for you. Then you'll need to advertise, network and build a client base.

All in all it'll be several years before you're able to support youself, much less profit, from it. So, you'll likely have to work another paying job as well until your established.

If your passionate and committed enough it's probably worth it to live your dream job. If its not your dream job

...its probably not going to work out.

Using university to study anatomy, physiology, etc would only benefit a personal training career.

It could be a great idea, but you need a backup plan, in case it doesn't pan out.

Don't leave school, complete your degree.
