Regarding the word for “undeserved kindness,” which is translated “grace” in many Bible versions, one scholar wrote: The whole basic idea of the word is that of a free and undeserved gift, of something given to a man unearned and unmerited.

    GRACE:

A Greek word with the central idea of that which is agreeable and winsome. The word is often used to refer to a kind gift or a kind manner of giving.

When referring to the undeserved kindness of God, the word describes a free gift given generously by God, with no expectation of repayment.

Thus, it is an expression of God’s giving and generous love and kindness toward humans.

The Greek term is also rendered by such expressions as “favor and kind gift. It is given unearned and unmerited, motivated solely by the generosity of the giver. 2Co 6:1; Eph 1:7

Undeserved kindness which is translated "grace" in many Bible versions as a Bible scholar put means a free or undeserved gift of something given to a man unmerited and unearned. This was expressed when God gave his son Jesus Christ to die for all of mankind according to Hebrews 2:9.

    Unmerited favor.

Basically that means even though everyone deserves to go to hell for their sins and no one has or can do anything to deserve going to heaven, God, through his grace, has provided a way (through an obedient faith; Rom 1:5; Ac 6:7) where they can avoid hell and go to heaven.

It's an over used name given to little girls. It's become a cliche.

I wish someday to know what he word "Grace" means....

And "Holy" and "Glory" and "Righteousness".

I'm willing to learn.... Is it "Sacred"? Or "Blessed"?

    Those word drive me nuts...

Then they add “Mercy”, “Piety”, “Sanctity” “Virtue”...

They toss these undefined terms into the "Word Salads" that flow from the pulpits as great sounding Gospel Truth. It's all theatrical bullshit....

    Ii rest my case....

Update: A Yahoo! user ·.Thanks for "unmerited favor of God". What's your source?
