windows media player will rip music but when i want to burn music to a cd, it says connect burner to burn. how is this done. help.?

    Windows media player is no longer free you will have to buy it.

    Check your disc drive.

    It may not be capable of recording.

    If it is capable and it still doesn't work, check the blank disc.

    They can be defective.

    Just to confirm: Your optical drive is also a CD burner? It should say on the front of the drive.

    Most PC optical drives are also CD and DVD burners but if for some reason you have an old one, it may only be a CD/DVD player.
