Garmin Forerunner 35 watch problems with it charging?

So I got the watch for Christmas. Set it up that day and wore it ever since. I've charged it a few times, and it's always charged relatively fast. About exactly a month later, the charging started to be weird. I'd plug it in and the battery bar would go straight to full with a plug icon, but it never was actually charging... this happened every time I charged it. 2 days later it completely died and now it won't charge! I've tried 3 different times now and two of the times nothing even popped up. No icon showing it's charging, never turned on after hours of it charging. Only one time did an icon show, it turned on about 30 minutes later. After and hour on the charger I took it off to see how full it was and the watch turned off as soon as I took it off the charger. I've only had this watch for a month and have run multiple workouts without a watch now. I have a race tomorrow morning too
